PDA CAN MAKE YOUR IMAGE WORK
PDA’s art department prides itself on its ability to make any image screen print ready. Please note, however, that the following guidelines are in place to save the customer
money and speed-up the rate of production. If you feel that these steps are not achievable with your image, please feel free to let PDA’s art department assist.

ART CHARGES
• A minimum art charge of $20.00 will apply to every new order. This fee is to cover the expense of creating an artwork approval form, tocover the artists time for
proofing the image and fixing small mistakes the customer may have overlooked as well as to continue to be up to date in software and equipment.
• A charge of $40.00 per hour will be billed for extensive changes to provided artwork or the creation of artwork for specific in-house usage.

ART PROCEDURES
• PO from customer must be received by PDA before any artwork can be started
• No artwork can be processed until an official artwork approval has been received
• Orders pending approval will be held until approval has been received

FILE TRANSFER
If you have created your own artwork, it is best to deliver it in digital form via e-mail to art@pdacoolstuff.com or by CD. If it is not possible to send a digital file, a large black
and white laser copy is the next best option, however, art charges will apply.
• Provide digital files by e-mail or CD (electronic art is preferred to paper art)
• Compress larger files (ZIP on PC) or (ARCHIVE on MAC)
E-MAILED ARTWORK SHOULD INCLUDE
• Company Name
• PO#
• Job Name
• Phone and Fax
• Contact Name
• File notes/details (programs used, dimensions of imprint, etc.)

VECTOR GRAPHICS
Vector graphics are made of points, lines, shapes and curves scalable to any size without losing detail or clarity. These types of files are the most commonly used for screen
printing because of the way they lend themselves to the separation of individual spot colors.
• The acceptable vector file type is Illustrator CS4 or below (AI Mac files or EPS files)
• Corel Draw or Freehand files should be exported as Vector PDF files
• Fonts must be converted to outlines. If not possible, include the fonts with the file
• Linked or placed images should be embedded or included with the file
• Please use spot colors from the PANTONE Solid Coated Palette

RASTER GRAPHICS
Raster graphics are made of pixels and are only suitable if the image being printed maintains a photorealistic quality. Depending on the detail of the image, raster files are
typically used for 4-Color Process or Simulated Process printing.
• The acceptable raster file type is PSD (Photoshop Document)
• All layers should be included
• Resolution must be set to 300 dpi
• Color mode must be set to RGB
• Image size must be set to the actual size or larger than the final image will print

PROGRAMS NOT ACCEPTED
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Publisher
• Microsoft Powerpoint
• Paint programs

TYPES OF ART THAT WILL REQUIRE MORE THAN THE MINIMUM ART TIME
• JPG
• BMP
• GIF
Though these file types are excellent for proofing, they do not work when outputting artwork for screen printing. Art charges will apply if these file types are the only option.
